The Maldives Customs Service seized 2.18kgs of narcotics that was being brought in through means of air transport. The
case was handed over to the Maldives Police Service and in a joint investigation of the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Internal
Investigation Department; seven people were arrested in relation to the smuggling.
On the 15th of November, 2.18kgs
of a substance suspected of being narcotics was seized from a Pakistani national who was traveling on Qatar airways. Seven
Maldivian involved in assisting foreigner in smuggling the drugs are now in Police custody.
